...Does ‘nature’ need art? Must not art be an expression of nature through human agency? Léa Kristmanson's artistic approach derives in part from a profound reflection on landscape and perception as it is embodied in series of large oil canvases that she began in 2005. Her works on paper, on video, and in digital formats, record a series of interests rooted in cognitive and philosophical questions. As a painter, Léa is also the philosopher retracing landscape “back to where it remains obscure and unthematized.” The results are enigmatic, and yet very much ‘of nature’. M.Kristmanson
...La "nature" a-t-elle besoin de l'art? L'art ne doit-il pas être une expression de la nature a travers l'action humaine? La démarche artistique de Léa Kristmanson découle en partie d'une réflexion profonde sur le paysage et la perception telle qu'elle s'incarne dans une série de grandes toiles à l'huile qu'elle a commencée en 2005. De même ses oeuvres sur papier, sur video et dans des formats numériques, enregistrent une série d'intérets enracinés dans des questions cognitives et philosophiques. Dans ses tableaux Léa retrace le paysage là où il reste obscur et non thematisé, le résultat bien qu' énigmatique est porteur de louanges de la nature.
